Hey You Got Amiga in my Food Documentary!

In the 1970's & 80's there was a famous commercial for Reese's peanut butter cups about accidentally getting peanut butter in chocolate and both ingredients tasting better together. Of course it was done on purpose. We are doing something similar in 2021. The Amiga once was a mainstream creative tool used to make content for television shows, commercials and movies. Unfortunately that's no longer true today. In an alternate universe we would be editing 8k footage in an Amiga video editing software/hardware solution. Since we can't do that we will instead be hiring creative talent from the Amiga community to create graphics and video for our Processed Food Documentary. We will also include Amigas in any shots in the film that require computers and or data entry. We will do this to help promote the brand. We can slip in quite a few Amigas this way even including an X5000 and a MorphOS system. Enjoy watching that Reese's commercial below from YouTube.

Help from the Fans!

We are on the look out for graphic artists and video savvy members of the Amiga community to do some work on the movie. Please get in touch if you're interested in this project. We have some cool people helping already and we are looking for a few more. You won't be required to use the Amiga but if you have something modern like MorphOS or the X5000 you are more than welcome to use that technology as your creative tool. If you also have a HD TriCaster hidden in your man/girl cave that's even better. Don't forget, Viva Amiga was edited on Final Cut Pro X, we love that too.

The Fear of Fat - The Real Elephant in the Room | Kelli Jean Drinkwater ...

Great TED Talk about the Fear of Fat. Unfortunately this is a growing problem in America. Some say this is due in part to the Food Industry.

Hey you got some Effects in my Food!

In order to spice up the visual effects of the movie and give it a unique look we have created several food video transitions that we may sell separately for video editors to use. Think ESPN animated wipes but with a food flavor to them. Look for a few of them to download soon if your editing system of choice is a NewTek TriCaster or Apple's Final Cut Pro X.

Ultra Size Me?

Many customers have asked if Oil Change -There’s a Killer in your Food! will be like the famous documentary Super Size Me. The only things the two movies have in common is a similar Evil Corporate Clown and interviews with the the public about food ingredients. Super Size actually didn’t delve into the ingredients aspect of food much. So we guess that makes these doc films about 1% similar. So to summarize, no one is going on a 30 day fast food diet in Oil Change. It’s a scary movie but not in that way.

Meet the Characters of Oil Change

The film has many colorful and interesting characters that help summarize and dig into the processed ingredients and politics of the food  industry. First up is Fat Sam, he symbolizes the lazy indifference the government plays in the processed food game. It’s a business after all and food manufactures have made sure to grease the right palms sometimes to make the government look the other way and or delay legislation that could affect thier bottom line.

Sugar Coated Trailer

Another great movie about the food industry, this time focusing on the very addictive food additive sugar. We are surprised more people don't even know this documentary exists, it's a great film. It's only available on Vimeo for some reason. Also you can watch it if you have a membership to the Diet Doctor website. Well worth renting or buying if you want to know more about that sweet treat you might be thinking about stuffing in your face.

Naughty Dough Boys!

One of the many processed food ingredients that we will be discussing in Oil Change - There's a Killer in Your Food is Trans Fats. This artery clogging and heart attack inducing ingredient is now illegal to use in food in the United States. Yet, even in 2020 you can still find it being used be food developers and its still on store shelves. We believe they are still taking advantage of an old loophole in the law that allows it to be used if its less than 0.5 per serving. The Pillsbury Dough Boy takes full advantage of this when he sells you Trans Fat laden biscuits. Eating these once in a blue moon hopefully will not impact your health. But if you make this a daily breakfast treat sooner or later it will catch up to you. Here's the list of ingredients and a link directly to the product.

Enriched Flour Bleached (wheat flour, niacin, ferrous sulfate, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), Water, Soybean and Palm Oil, Sugar, Baking Powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, baking soda, sodium aluminum phosphate), Hydrogenated Palm Oil. Contains 2% or less of: Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Salt, Vital Wheat Gluten, Dextrose, Whey, Mono and Diglycerides, Xanthan Gum, Propylene Glycol Alginate, Calcium Chloride, Preservatives (TBHQ, citric acid), Natural and Artificial Flavor, Color Added.

Just in case you didn't know the "Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil" is the ingredient that contains Trans Fat. This product also contains aluminum which is also not recommended to eat on a regular bases since it can impact your health.

Tools of the Trade

In order to produce the very best food documentary possible we have developed a multi-platform approach to our work ethic and our digital video tools. This means several Sony 4K Professional Cameras for all our video acquisition.  It also means Final Cut Pro X from Apple for our 4K editing needs. We utilize NewTek's TriCaster for any Live Streaming and CG work required. We even use a brand new X5000 from A-Eon Technology Ltd. for Logo and graphics work. Networking all these technology tools together gives our artists and film producers the greatest toolset necessary to make a great movie.  We will be discussing these hardware/software tools more in depth in future blog entries and will also showcase some of the work being done for Oil Change - There's a Killer in Your Food.

Official Blog for an in development Film about Processed Food

Well hello again, this is the first entry on the progress of Oil Change - There's a Killer in Your Food documentary. Check back often if you are interested in learning the possible health risks to eating excessive amounts of processed food over a lifetime. Processed food is a side effect of our modern society and gives us many more choices on the flavors and types of food we can consume and enjoy during the day. However all that processing may not always be good for our health long term. It really just depends on what food choices you make and the amounts you expose yourself to man made food additives.
